U.S. Senator Kelly Loeffler (R-Ga.) announced that Atlanta-based Royal Food Service Co. Inc. won a five-year contract with the federal government.

Through this contract awarded by the Defense Logistics Agency, Royal Food Service Co. Inc., which distributes Georgia-grown produce, will receive $465 million to provide fresh fruits and vegetables to the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy and U.S. Department of Agriculture.

“Georgia’s produce is among the best in the world, and this contract demonstrates that Georgians aren’t the only ones who know it,” said Loeffler. “I’m glad to see a well-respected Georgia business awarded this contract. This partnership comes at a crucial time as the COVID-19 pandemic has led to challenges with our supply chains, leaving farmers struggling to get their produce to consumers. This contract is a win for many in Georgia, and I commend the Defense Logistics Agency for its excellent choice.”
