CROFT & Associates has been selected to design new recreational center for the City of Kennesaw.  The $11 million, 42,200 square feet recreational center will be constructed in two phases. Phase One will be 25,100 SF and Phase Two– 17,100 SF.

The overall facility will encompass three gym floors for multiple indoor sports activities, a gymnastic room, fitness rooms, and administrative office space. The upper level, accessible by both elevator and stairs, leads to an elevated walking track that runs the perimeter of the three gym floors. The first phase will include two basketball courts, a fitness room and administrative office. The second phase features a third basketball court, gymnastics space and fitness room.

The new facility will be in Adams Park. The city will use 2016 SPLOST funds to pay for phase one of the recreation center, which will cost approximately $7 million, according to city documents. The Kennesaw City Council approved the 2016 SPLOST reallocation during its July 6 meeting. The city plans to use 2022 SPLOST funds to pay for phase two of construction.
