Transwestern Real Estate Services (TRS) announces East Region President Bruce Ford has been selected to chair the Board of Directors for Make-A-Wish® Georgia. He will work with members of the board, the Make-A-Wish team, and Transwestern’s Atlanta and Miami offices to fulfill the organization’s mission to create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Ford was appointed to the nonprofit’s board of directors in 2017. His new role as board chair, effective Sept. 1 2020, will run through an initial term of two years.

“It’s been a privilege to serve on the board for Make-A-Wish the past three years and an extraordinary honor to be named chairman,” said Ford. “Giving back is as important to me personally as it is to Transwestern. I’m extremely proud of the generosity and commitment of our team members to support the organization’s mission of creating unforgettable memories for courageous children.”

A culture-driven company that embraces social responsibility and encourages community engagement, Transwestern selected Make-A-Wish as its Southeast philanthropy partner in 2013. This partnership became a national initiative for Transwestern in 2018. Since then, the company has raised more than $550,000 for the nonprofit through a variety of internal and external fundraising activities.

Most recently, Transwestern Atlanta fulfilled wishes for sisters Naylha and Synthia, who battle sickle cell. Naylha dreamed of visiting Disney World to meet the princesses, while Synthia wished to travel to Aulani, a Disney Hawaii Resort & Spa, so she could swim, snorkel, and hula with her family.

“Bruce Ford and his family have been integral during some of our chapter’s most transformational and impactful years,” said Tim Earley, Make-A-Wish Georgia CEO. “His unique leadership qualities and ability to mobilize and inspire others are an ideal fit for Chairman of our Board as we continue to reimagine how we bring wishes to life to Georgia wish kids.”

Ford is past Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Holy Innocents Episcopal Church and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Buckhead Coalition. As Transwestern’s East Region President, he oversees operational excellence, client service delivery, and business development initiatives for the commercial services business in 11 offices across Massachusetts, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Maryland, Virginia, New Jersey, New York, and the District of Columbia. He also serves on Transwestern's Executive Committee and Board of Directors.
