Georgia Power Employees Donate More than 1,000 Non-perishable Items to Local Food Bank during COVID-19 Pandemic

Employees from Georgia Power’s Citizens -Customer Care Center volunteer chapter recently partnered with Helping in His Hands Ministry to conduct a canned food drive.

While employees have been unable to complete hands-on volunteer projects during this time, they are supporting their neighbors by providing non-perishable goods and winter coats to those in need. Employees were able to collect more than 1,000 perishable goods during the two-day canned food drive. 

Citizens of Georgia Power is the employee volunteer arm of Georgia Power Company. With 42 chapters statewide and more than 3,400 members, consisting of employees and their spouses, volunteers contributed more than 143,000 hours equal to $3.5 million in 2019.
