Haven Design Works Wins Four Gold and One Silver OBIEs for Merchandising

Haven Design Works won big at the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association’s 40th Annual OBIE awards. The interior design team was recognized during the awards ceremony with four Gold OBIEs and one Silver OBIE for Best Interior Merchandising and amenity center design. Haven prides itself on designing beautiful spaces that are strategic, data-driven choices elevating their projects with trend forward design.

Haven Design Works won the following OBIEs:

Community of the Year & Best Amenity Package GOLD Winner

Jim Chapman Communities and Haven Design Works teamed up to create an award-winning amenity at Nestledown Farms in Forsyth County. The clubhouse at this active adult community is the centerpiece of the neighborhood with a fitness center, game room, large gathering room with a fireplace, catering kitchen and expansive front veranda. HDW captured the relaxed lifestyle by incorporating modern rustic finishes, shiplap and washed woods. This farm inspired amenity center resonated with the homeowners and created a beautiful gathering space.

Single Family Builder, Detached, $1 to $1.2 Million – GOLD Winner

This Southern Living plan at Hawks Ridge in Canton, Georgia won a Gold OBIE for Chathambilt Homes. Haven Design Works contributed to this win by merchandising the home for the Atlanta Parade of Homes. The home is situation on a beautiful and secluded 1.4 acre lot and features covered front and back porches with scenic views, a spacious master on the main, walkout basement, oversized family foyer off the 3-car garage, detailed interior trim, custom cabinets, premium appliances, front porch fireplace, and premium floor coverings.

Best Interior Merchandising, Attached, $299,000 and Under SILVER Winner

The Rutledge model at McEver Mill is known as the "rear living" model home. Located in Oakwood, Georgia, this home’s dining room, family room and owner’s suite are all at the rear of the home enhancing back yard living spaces. Built by Jim Chapman Communities, the home is light and bright and the coral and sage color palette creates a warm and cozy environment. The Rutledge was decorated by Interior Designer Mary Elizabeth Alexander for the move down active adult buyer. This two-bedroom home also features a spacious upstairs guest suite.

Best Interior Merchandising, Detached $300,000 - $399,000 GOLD Winner

Senior Designer Allison Worley designed the Southport modern farmhouse model in Traditions of Braselton, a sought-after country club community in Jefferson, Georgia. Featuring a fresh, modern color palette of emerald green and a soft blush, the overall style is trend forward, yet comfortable and welcoming for a casual lifestyle. This home has a place for everyone and everything. At 2,500 square feet and five bedrooms, the home really maximizes space and lives large! It is perfectly designed for a move-up family buyer.

Best Interior Merchandising, Attached, $299,000 and Under GOLD Winner

The Seaboard Junction Savannah model in Loganville, Georgia is a beautiful rustic modern inspired home with a bold color palette of brick red, goldenrod and ebony. HDW’s Tiffany Nelson designed this model as the perfect plan for a move down, active adult buyer. It has an open living floor plan where a spacious dining room opens to the family room and kitchen with expansive island for additional seating and entertaining. This home has a luxurious, oversized master suite and two secondary bedrooms, one merchandised as a guest room and the other as a working study. Current design trends like vertical shiplap and bold paint colors were incorporated into this home.

The Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association and Atlanta Sales and Marketing Council present the OBIE Awards annually. The first awards were given in 1980 and named for the obelisk shape of the actual award given. This prestigious awards program has grown throughout the years to include more than 100 homebuilding, remodeling, marketing and personal achievement categories.
