Wednesday, April 7th, 2021

Georgia Foreign-Trade Zone (GFTZ) President and CEO Julie Brown today welcomed John W. Woodward, Vice President for Global Commerce at the Metro Atlanta Chamber (MAC), to the GFTZ Board of Directors. A specialist in cross-border trade and investment, Woodward specializes in assisting foreign companies considering entry or expansion in the U.S. market, and Atlanta-area companies exploring growth overseas.

“The Metro Atlanta Chamber plays a significant role in building up the economic strength of the region and has been an excellent partner of ours for more than 40 years. In appointing John to our Board of Directors, MAC is putting one of its strongest experts in a position to help global businesses accelerate their growth through the U.S. foreign-trade zone program and solidify their place in our community for decades to come,” Brown said.

Board Chairman Joseph R. Bankoff welcomed Woodward, noting his robust engagement with business leaders in Europe and Asia. “John is a highly respected and trusted counselor to job creators on both sides of the Atlantic and Pacific. He understands the direct connection between stronger businesses and stronger local economies, and how reducing, delaying, or eliminating tariffs and fees supports both goals. I am pleased to welcome him to the GFTZ Board of Directors and look forward to the benefit of his counsel.”
