ASG Welcomes Roberta Jacobson Return, Roberto Dañino as Senior Advisors

Albright Stonebridge Group (ASG), the premier global strategy firm and part of Dentons Global Advisors, announced today that Ambassador Roberta Jacobson and former Prime Minister of Peru Roberto Dañino have joined as Senior Advisors with the firm's Americas practice.

Roberta Jacobson rejoins ASG after a temporary assignment at the White House. Ambassador Jacobson was an ASG Senior Advisor from 2018 to 2020, and has more than 30 years of distinguished diplomatic experience, including as the United States Ambassador to Mexico and as Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs. Most recently, Ambassador Jacobson served as Special Assistant to President Joseph R. Biden and coordinator for the Southwest border on the National Security Council.

From 2016 to 2018, as Ambassador to Mexico, she oversaw one of the most intricate bilateral relationships in the world and managed a broad array of issues, including trade and investment, security and immigration, the environment, and human rights. 

Previously, Ambassador Jacobson held several distinguished U.S. government posts focused on Latin America, including Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Canada, Mexico, and the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA); Director of the State Department’s Office of Mexican Affairs; and Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in Peru. In the Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs, she also served as Director of the Office of Policy Planning and Coordination and as coordinator for Cuban affairs. 

Roberto Dañino has served in leadership positions in both the public and private sectors. From 2001 to 2002, he was Prime Minister of the Republic of Peru, after which he served as Peru's Ambassador to the United States. Mr. Dañino has been Senior Vice President and General Counsel of the World Bank, as well as Secretary General of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID). He was the founding general counsel of the Inter-American Investment Corporation, the private sector arm of the Inter-American Development Bank in Washington, D.C. He has also practiced corporate law, serving as chairman of the Latin American practice of leading law firms in the U.S. and Peru.

Mr. Dañino serves on the boards of various corporations and nonprofit organizations around the world, including the advisory boards of Goldman Sachs, the Open Society Foundations, and Human Rights Watch. He previously served as Vice Chairman of the Hochschild Group, an industrial conglomerate, and on the advisory boards of Uber Technologies and the Coca Cola Company Latin America.
