Redwood Capital Group Continues Growth Trajectory, Names Six Key Appointments in Chicago and Atlanta

Chicago-based Redwood Capital Group, a vertically integrated real estate investment manager, has announced the appointment of six key employees in Chicago and Atlanta. While three team members will focus on the firm’s investment business, two others will support the firm’s fully integrated property management company, Redwood Residential, and one new employee will operate across both organizations.

Christopher Baran now serves as senior vice president of construction and facilities and is based in the firm’s Chicago headquarters. In his new role, Baran oversees Redwood Capital Group’s construction management division as well as providing facilities management support to the Redwood Residential property management team. Baran brings over 20 years of experience to his role, managing a team of project managers and supervising all aspects of capital management, construction accounting, renovation programs, due diligence and consulting to improve training for maintenance processes.
 
Prior to joining Redwood Capital Group, Baran served as national director of construction at Laramar Group and held numerous titles at Frontier Construction, Inc., where he helped increase revenue from $7 million to $30 million. Baran graduated from Arizona State University’s Dell Webb School of Construction Management.
 
Bethany Dolder has been named training and operations manager at Redwood Residential and is responsible for the oversight of new property takeovers as well as their staffing. In addition to ensuring a seamless property transition as well as preparing on-site teams with any necessary training, Dolder also oversees new employee onboarding and development as well as general oversight of training initiatives that strengthen the organization and aid in employee retention and satisfaction.
 
Based in Chicago, Dolder has been with the company since 2018 and was promoted from her previous role as senior property manager at one of Redwood Residential’s largest communities. Before joining the firm, Dolder served as property manager with Tailwind Group, managing the portfolio’s largest student housing community.
 
Kadi Mancuso, also based in Chicago, is the firm’s director of marketing and is responsible for developing strategic and tactical marketing plans for both Redwood Residential and Redwood Capital Group, often acting as a liaison between the corporate office, regional management and community teams.
 
Prior to joining Redwood, Mancuso served as residential director of marketing at CA Ventures, coordinating between the development, construction, asset management and site-level property management teams. Before joining CA, she was the marketing manager for CMK Companies and Fifield Companies. Throughout her career, Mancuso has overseen more than 14,000 units across garden, mid-rise and high-rise asset types.
 
Michelle Romeo, CPM, now serves as senior regional manager for the Southeast region and is based in Atlanta. Romeo is responsible for the operational and financial success of Redwood Residential properties in Atlanta and Charlotte, along with anticipated expansion into Raleigh/Durham and the Florida markets. A recipient of the CPM designation through IREM, she is also affiliated with the Atlanta Apartment Association.
 
Romeo has been involved in all aspects of property management, including acquisitions and dispositions, lease-ups, renovations, vetting and implementation of policies and procedures and daily operations. Before joining Redwood Residential, she held positions at Bell Partners, Stonemark Management, The Worthing Companies and Wilkinson Real Estate Advisors.
 
Samuel Spitalny, also based in Redwood’s Atlanta office, is director of investments for the firm’s Southeast division. In this role, Spitalny manages all aspects of acquisition, from initial sourcing to closing, in Atlanta, Raleigh Durham, Charlotte and Nashville, as well as other markets where opportunities present themselves in the Southeast.
 
Before joining Redwood, Spitalny served as director of asset management with The GSH Group and held numerous roles with The RADCO Companies, most recently as vice president of asset management. A graduate of Vanderbilt University, Spitalny is a member of NMHC.
 
Lyndsay Thie now serves as human resources manager for Redwood and is based out of the company’s Chicago headquarters. She is responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies with a goal to enhance company culture, programs, wellness and charitable initiatives and practices.
 
Prior to joining Redwood, Thie’s experience was in the hospitality industry, most recently as senior human resources manager at Waldorf Astoria Chicago. She has also held roles at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, The Peninsula Hotels, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts and Highgate Hotels. A graduate of New York University, Thie has been awarded the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) designation by the Human Resource Certification Institute and is a member of The Society for Human Resource Management.
