The Spruill Center for the Arts today announced that Artistic Affair, its major fundraising event, will be held for the first time at the Spruill Education Center at 5339 Chamblee Dunwoody Road, Dunwoody, Georgia 30338. The soiree is in its 36th year and is scheduled for Friday, March 26, 2022 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. 

With the support of Presenting Sponsors Discover Dunwoody and Regency Centers, Artistic Affair 2022 – An Arts Experience is a revamp of the traditionally formal event to become an evening of offbeat and experiential fun. Guests will enjoy interactive, arts-based experiences and art demonstrations, as well as music, live and silent auctions, raffles and food and drink.

“We are going to throw a truly interactive, experiential party,” said Alan Mothner, CEO of Spruill Center of the Arts. “Artistic Affair is our biggest fundraiser of the year, but we also want to provide an evening designed to be fun and local; artsy, fresh and new – an event that will bring the whole community together to celebrate.”

On the newly renovated plaza, guests will enjoy an open bar, passed hors d’oeuvres, and food bar provided by Good Foods Kitchen as well as music by DJ Sloan Lee Music. The event features artist demonstrations and patrons will have the opportunity to bid in the Live Auction on high quality art and experiences created explicitly for Artistic Affair 2022.

Inside the center, guests will take part in the Silent Auction featuring the works of Spruill artists and special local experiences that can only be found at the fundraiser. Featured artist Leslie Cannon will create a live painting as guests observe. Guests will have the opportunity to offer bids on this artwork during the Live Auction at the end of the evening.

Additionally, guests will participate in the hands-on live mural painting led by designer Heather Niemann. The completed mural will be displayed as a permanent feature on the Spruill campus. Shortbarrel Bourbon will accompany the mural painting experience with an exclusive bourbon tasting featuring their newest release.

Adding to the evening’s festive vibe, experiences will also include Tarot Card Readings, Poetry on Demand, a Photo Booth to capture the excitement of the evening, a raffle for a $1,000 shopping spree at Lauderhills Fine Jewelry and a raffle for the Spruill Guild’s traditional fine wine collection.
