CSI Laboratories, a private national reference laboratory specializing in cancer diagnostics, celebrated the opening of their new molecular laboratory on Wednesday, May 20, 2015, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Greater North Fulton Chamber of Commerce. CSI’s Founder and CEO, Mr. Ron Ghafary, along with other CSI Laboratories team members welcomed local municipal and state officials including the Mayor of Alpharetta, Mr. David Belle Isle, and Georgia State Senator, Mr. Brandon Beach, to the laboratory’s Westside Parkway location.

At the ceremonial cutting, Mr. Ghafary spoke of the commitment to excellence that he founded the company on nearly two decades ago. “From a one-person operation in a 300 square foot space to nearly 200 team members in a 65,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility, CSI Laboratories has experienced much success over the last 18 years. The foundation of CSI’s success is based on our core belief that quality patient care must come first. As we continue to grow, patient care will always be at the forefront of everything we do. We look forward to celebrating many more milestones as we continue to be a leader in cancer diagnostics.”

The addition of an in-house molecular laboratory is significant to not only CSI’s growth as a company, but most importantly, the ability for CSI to provide more personalized medicine. The addition of the molecular laboratory will also allow CSI to maintain more control over molecular specimens and testing orders. By now being able to perform all tests under one roof, patients will benefit from CSI’s unique collaborative approach where doctors from each discipline (flow cytometry, FISH, cytogenetics, molecular and IHC) readily shares case information. This ideal process leads to more precise prognostic and diagnostic results, ultimately aiding in a better outcome for the patient.
