Todd Ashley, Juvenile Justice State Advisory Group

Ashley is the deputy director of the Prosecuting Attorneys’ Council of Georgia. He was previously a prosecutor in the Cobb County Solicitor General’s Office and an assistant district attorney in the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office. Ashley is the president-elect of the North Fulton Bar Association and co-chair of the Multi-Bar Leadership Council. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Georgia State University and a law degree from John Marshall Law School. Ashley resides in Milton.

Mollie Cohen, Nonpublic Postsecondary Education Commission

Cohen is the marketing director at the Pecan Ridge Plantation. She has more than 11 years of experience as an educator in both public and private schools and was named Whigham School Teacher of the Year. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Georgia. Cohen and her husband, Eric, are graduates of Leadership Georgia and have two children. They reside in Whigham.

Ray Smith, Stone Mountain Memorial Association (reappointment)

Smith is the head of the litigation department for Smith & Liss, LLC. He is counsel for the Chattahoochee 911 Authority, the City of Brookhaven and the Georgia Zoning Board of Appeals. Smith was appointed by Gov. Sonny Perdue to the Governor’s Committee for Sandy Springs and the Judicial Nominating Commission. He has been appointed as a special master, guardian ad litem and mediator by the Judiciary of Georgia. Smith earned bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and Speech Communications from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a law degree from Mercer University. He and his wife, Lynn, have two children. They reside in Atlanta.

Daniel Cravey, Veterans Service Board

Cravey retired as director of the Claims and Appeals Division of the Georgia Department of Veterans Service. He is a retired Master Sergeant in the U.S. Army. Cravey is a member of the American Legion. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Liberty University. Cravey and his wife, Lora, have two children. They reside in Milner.

Gordon Sawyer, Georgia World War I Centennial Commission

Sawyer is retired from the advertising industry. He is a veteran of World War II and past commander of the Paul E. Bolding Post 7 of the American Legion. Sawyer has written six books about northeast Georgia. He provides political and historical commentary for WDUN radio station in Gainesville. Sawyer earned a bachelor’s degree from Georgia Tech. He and his wife, Jean, have three children, eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. They reside in Gainesville.
