Wednesday, March 30th, 2016

This year, the Atlanta Dogwood Festival, presented by PNC Bank, celebrates its 80th anniversary, and to mark the exciting milestone, the festival presents a Saturday night party on April 9 with live music and hot air balloons.

Saturday night at the Atlanta Dogwood Festival, the Coca-Cola Main Stage will be rockin’ with tunes from Electric Avenue and and opening show by Members Only.

With big hair and plenty of flair, Members Only will hit the stage from 7 to 8:15 p.m. Featuring male and female vocalists, Members Only covers a wide range of 80s pop hits like Huey Lewis & the News, Peter Gabriel and Pat Benatar. Festival attendees can dig through their closets to find their favorite 80s clothing and accessories to party in costume.

From 8:45 to 10:45 p.m., festival visitors will go back in time with Electric Avenue, an authentic and exciting 80s Pop Tribute band, offering a high-definition snapshot of an era when synthesizers and drum machines were at the top of the food chain. Electric Avenue delivers spot-on renditions of Tears for Fears, Level 42, Naked Eyes, Soft Cell, Simple Minds, Duran Duran, Wham!, Kenny Loggins, INXS, The Clash, OMD and more. With these songs, the Atlanta Dogwood Festival will feel like the set of a John Hughes film!

As a throwback to the years the festival had balloon gatherings nearly two decades ago, for the 80th tethered hot air balloon rides will be offered on Friday and Saturday. Visitors will have an exciting opportunity to see the festival from a new perspective!
