Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed will join officials from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on Thursday, June 30 to unveil the U.S. Military Service Wall of Honor, the Airport’s newest tribute to the armed services. Mayor Reed will offer remarks about the new display, the Independence Day holiday, security readiness and the busy travel weekend. He will be joined by Airport officials who will describe the ongoing successful efforts to expedite travelers through security screening.

The U.S. Military Service Wall of Honor is a multimedia display of military artifacts designed to honor members of the United States armed services. The display is intended to be permanent and will be located in the Domestic Terminal Atrium. The unveiling of the display is part of a larger Independence Day celebration that will occur throughout ATL during the holiday period.

Hartsfield-Jackson officials are looking forward to a busy holiday weekend, with more than 80,000 passengers expected to be screened through domestic security checkpoints Friday, July 1. ATL leaders recommend travelers arrive at least two hours prior to scheduled domestic flight departures.
