Private Bank of Buckhead – which includes the Private Bank of Decatur and PrivatePlus Mortgage divisions – is celebrating its 10th Anniversary. The bank opened on December 11, 2006.

“I am proud and heartened that we have reached this milestone,” says the bank’s President, CEO and Chairman Charlie Crawford. “We appreciate all those who have supported us along the way: Employees, clients, business partners, shareholders and friends.”

Crawford, who organized the bank with 11 other directors, also notes that the bank’s Private Bank of Decatur division marked its Fourth Anniversary in October and that PrivatePlus Mortgage, the bank’s re-launched and much-expanded mortgage division, will soon celebrate its Third Anniversary.

“We had an idea that the Metro Atlanta market would respond well to a bank that was fanatical about service and was an integral part of the community,” he says, “and we’re thankful so many folks have confirmed and endorsed that approach.”

He notes some of the bank’s milestones, including adding a Small Business Administration lending department that was quickly (and since) recognized as a Preferred Lender by the SBA, launching Private Bank of Decatur and deploying PrivatePlus Mortgage, which originates mortgages in 50 states and the District of Columbia.

“Our anticipated merger with National Bank of Commerce will be another great milestone. Our bankers and mortgage pros, as well as our clients, know and trust that we will continue to deliver our brand and tailored approach, with the benefits of added breadth and depth,” Crawford says. That union is expected to become effective in January.

To celebrate its 10th anniversary, the bank created a short employee video, and deployed one of its periodic client service surveys. “As we pause to celebrate theanniversary, we didn’t want to rest on our laurels,” Crawford says, instead noting the survey is one of several ways the bank regularly asks, “How are we doing?”
