They also are the winningest team in U.S. Davis Cup history (24-5), going 4-0 en route to 2007 title and took Olympic gold at London in 2012 and bronze at 2008 Beijing. Mike also won bronze in mixed doubles at 2012 London w/Lisa Raymond.

With league play in the Atlanta metro area composed of 100,000 doubles players, the Bryans feel at home in a city of tennis enthusiasts.

"Playing in front of packed stadium courts in 2015, we saw how passionate the Atlanta tennis fans are, in particular about doubles,” the Bryans said in a joint statement.

BB&T Atlanta Open Tournament Director, Eddie Gonzalez said it was important to get the Bryans back to Atlanta.

"Atlanta tennis fans know doubles, and doubles is the primary form of tennis competition in ALTA and USTA leagues around the metro area. There is no better showcase for the most dominant men’s team in tennis history than the BB&T Atlanta Open. We all welcome Bob and Mike back to Atlantic Station and the BB&T Atlanta Open for 2017."

Atlanta has played an important role in their careers. They have visited the tennis-rich city many times as goodwill ambassadors of the sport, and in 1996, they won their first ATP World Tour match as wildcard entrants. It was there, that Atlanta tennis fans were introduced to the Bryans’ signature celebratory airborne chest bump move. Chest bumps can now be seen at every level of tennis, from junior tournaments to college matches and even adult club or league play.

The Bryans are slated to open play in the 2017 BB&T Atlanta Open’s Tuesday session, July 25, so reserve your seats now.

"We won our first professional match as a team in Atlanta back in 1996, and we predict more "chest bumps" in July," stated the duo.
