Initial Tenants Revealed for North Decatur Square

S.J. Collins Enterprises, a commercial real estate development firm, has signed leases for the first tenants at North Decatur Square, a new mixed-use retail center in Georgia.
 
Work on the roughly 86,000-square-foot North Decatur Square has begun with the demolition of the existing buildings.  Construction is slated to commence in early fall 2017.
 
The retail hub’s tenants will be anchored by a 35,000-square-foot 365 by Whole Foods Market, a new concept grocery store that provides simple, affordable and convenient everyday shopping without sacrificing the quality standards and dedication to food transparency that Whole Foods Market pioneered.
 
So far, the retail center’s other tenants will include Avalon Nail Spa, Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar, Club Pilates, gusto! Wood Fire Grill, Hollywood Feed, Regions Bank Sage Dental and Takorea. The site will also feature a four-story apartment building by Terwilliger Pappas. The apartment community will house 450 residents.
 
“This is a unique and hip area in Atlanta,” said Justin Latone, director of leasing for the center. “With this retail center, we elected to pursue more local and trendy businesses in the area like Takorea and gusto!, but we also want to attract highly respected businesses like 365 by Whole Foods, which will be the first in Georgia. We think this retail hub will be a regional asset for the up-and-coming Decatur market.”
 
The retail center will incorporate a pedestrian-friendly design with wide sidewalks, a common gathering area with seating, pocket parks, an acre of open space, multi-use trails for enhanced walkability and Wi-Fi capability across the entire development.
 
Located at Church Street and North Decatur Road, the 18-acre site for North Decatur Square was a former Nalley Nissan and Infiniti dealership. The DeKalb Medical Center, a hospital with 418 beds and 550 doctors, is located right across the street.
