Inland Seafood and the City of Birmingham are working together to give the Ensley area of Birmingham the investment it deserves. “Real growth is more than a quick fix; it takes investment in the people and history of a city,” says Birmingham Mayor William A. Bell. “Along with Inland Seafood, we plan on setting a standard for success.”

Inland Seafood will initially be creating nearly 50 new jobs in phase one of their foodservice production facility. At this facility, the company will be providing various value-added fish, seafood, meat and other center of the plate protein products for sale to restaurants, grocery stores and other customers. Once the facility is completed and all departments are in full swing, Inland Seafood hopes to offer over 100 new jobs to the Birmingham, AL community.

Alongside the company’s sales center, centralized distribution warehouse, and value-added operation, there will be a state-of-the-art culinary training center offering continuing education in the culinary arts.

In addition to the boost in jobs and the continuing education components, Inland Seafood, now an employee owned company, is excited to tap further into the Birmingham workforce and develop the future of the business with opportunities for ownership stakes in its success. “Inland is proud of the participation we have always had in the communities we serve,” says Chris Rosenberger, President of Inland Seafood. “We are only as good as the people in our buildings and we are thrilled to fill the new facility with the locals we have been serving for the past 11 years in Birmingham.”
