The Georgia Department of Labor will hold an informational session and recruitment for MARTA to hire 20 police officers to work in Atlanta's MARTA system.

The event will be held on Saturday, July 22, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the MARTA headquarters located at 2424 Piedmont Road in Atlanta. GDOL staff will be on site to assist applicants.

All applicants must be at least 21 years old.

Applicants are required to have at least one of the following: at least two years of college education, at least two years of certification with a Peace Officer Standards and Training Council, a complete term of Honorable Military Service or have completed a pre-service academy course.

A physical examination, background check, along with a drug screening and psychological testing is required of all applicants.

Salaries will depend on the experience. The company is offering a $3,000 signing bonus for certified officers and $1,000 for non-certified officers.
