Huddleston Elementary Renovation Receives National Award

The renovation of Huddleston Elementary School has been selected as a winner of a 2017 Alliant Build America Award.
The entire school was renovated last summer using ESPLOST (Education Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax) funds. Renovations included replacement of the roof, heating ventilation and air-conditioning system, flooring, and ceiling lights. Also, the exterior was updated, and the entire building was painted.
The total renovation cost was $5,812,000, paid for by ESPLOST.Carroll Daniel Construction was the vendor that headed the renovation project. The Alliant Build America Award honors the Associated General Contractors of America members who build the nation's most impressive construction projects. Alliant Build America winners excel in the areas of state-of-the-art advancement, project management, innovation in construction techniques or materials, safety record, client service, community relations, environmental sensitivity, and partnering excellence.
