MSL has tapped Doug Busk, Coca-Cola's Global Group Director of Digital Communications and Social Media to serve as the Managing Director of its Atlanta office.  During his time at The Coca-Cola Company, Doug led the evolution and international expansion of the Coca-Cola Journey storytelling platform, growing it from four countries to more than 100.

According to Ron Guirguis, U.S. CEO, "Doug will bring tremendous leadership, as well as digital, social, mobile and leading-edge brand communications experience to our Atlanta office, which is already a hub for innovative brand storytelling.  With his success turning Coca-Cola Journey into the award-winning "gold standard" of brand storytelling, Doug is a global expert in this space and we're excited for him to bring his thinking and expertise to our clients in Atlanta and beyond."

In addition to his role running the Atlanta office, Guirguis said that Busk will work with others across MSL's U.S. network to evolve the company's brand storytelling offering.  Doug will lead an effort to build on existing capabilities in brand narrative development and thought leadership, as well as video, social media creation and curation, content marketing, and paid, owned and earned expertise.  Taken together, this evolution of brand storytelling and content publishing will serve as powerful influence tools that deliver data-driven business impact.

Busk said, "I look forward to establishing the Atlanta office as a center of excellence for brand storytelling, tapping the strength of the team of exceptional communicators and leveraging Atlanta's Helix digital content team, while also drawing resources from across MSL and Publicis Groupe networks.  I am thrilled to join team MSL and consider this a unique opportunity to build a story-telling machine that drives engagement and impact for our clients."

In addition to his acclaimed work on Coca-Cola Journey, during his seven years at Coca-Cola, Busk drove strategic growth of the company's corporate social media channels and achieved exponential increase in social engagement.  He also led the development and execution of digital training and capability-building worldwide.  In an earlier role as Director of Connections Innovation at Coca-Cola, Busk led a global effort to empower the company's global marketing community to engage consumers in real time.  In 2013, he spearheaded the creation and launch of the HUB Network, Coca-Cola's global social listening, analysis and engagement platform, connecting and harmonizing the real-time work of more than 2,000 social media marketers worldwide.

Before joining Coca-Cola, Busk held business development and product marketing executive roles with Amdocs and SinglePoint.  He also has strong roots in the mobile industry.  During the 2008 presidential election cycle, he served as an outside strategic advisor to the Obama campaign's landmark mobile efforts.  Prior to that, he led project management and development for Verizon Wireless and Cingular.  At Verizon he drove the creation of the nation's first cross-carrier nonprofit fundraising capability via text messaging, which, in 2010, raised more than $40 million for the Red Cross' Haiti earthquake relief efforts.
