Noted former federal prosecutor Brian McEvoy is the new managing partner of the firm's Atlanta office. He will take over from Nancy E. Rafuse, who has been named chair of the Polsinelli Labor & Employment Department.

Rafuse has held the position of office managing partner since her well-known Atlanta law firm Rafuse, Hill & Hodges joined Polsinelli in 2014. Under Rafuse's leadership, Polsinelli has experienced tremendous growth of the office, and has increased local and national clients in areas of labor and employment, health care, real estate and white collar and internal investigations.

McEvoy focuses his practice as a white collar defense litigator handling health care fraud cases and other federal economic criminal matters. As a former federal prosecutor with the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Georgia, he received special commendation from the Department of Health and Human Services by receiving the Inspector General's Integrity Award for his work prosecuting health care fraud matters. Due to his extensive experience litigating civil and criminal health care matters, he is uniquely situated to represent physicians, physician practice groups and other health care providers in almost any type of proceeding.

Rafuse's promotion to chair of the Labor & Employment Department at Polsinelli will enable her to continue to work with and grow the L&E group nationally and continue her impressive work with some of the nation's top companies, serving as lead trial counsel in all areas of employment litigation. Named one of the top litigators in the country, Rafuse has defended class actions filed under the anti-discrimination statues, as well as collective wage and hour actions under the FLSA and similar state statutes. She has cemented her place among the nation's elite litigators, by leading some of the most impactful litigation in recent history.

McEvoy joined Polsinelli as a shareholder in 2015. He received  his  law degree with honors from Georgia State University College of Law, and his B.A., cum laude, from Boston College. He has served as chair of the State Bar of Georgia Health Care Law Section's Executive Committee and the co-chair of the Southeast Subcommittee of the American Bar Association Committee on White Collar Crime.
