Clayton State will create two types of scholarship programs for eligible students–First Generation and Women in STEM Fields.

The University will award 25 first-generation students $10,000 scholarships who demonstrate financial need. Ten of those scholarships will be reserved for those studying Supply Chain Management, meeting one of the state of Georgia’s workforce need through its High Demand Career Initiative.

An additional 10 scholarships in the amount of $10,000 will be awarded to female students pursuing higher education study in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

Clayton State has continued to align its strategic goals toward increasing the number of first-generation, minority, and women students that come from the south metro Atlanta seeking an affordable education.

For fall 2017, 69.1 percent of enrolled students are women. Additionally, 61 percent of the student body is made up of African American students.

Academically, the College of Information and Mathematical Sciences recently expanded its equipment to meet industry standards with the purchase of two NAO robots and a render farm software for students studying computer science.

The University’s Center for Supply Chain Management has partnered with many of Georgia’s leading transportation and third-party logistics companies offering direct access to talented students primed for success in the supply chain and logistics sector.
