Monday, April 2nd, 2018

The Atlanta Apartment Association has named Tommy Brunson, senior vice president of development at Fairfield Residential, its 2018 board of directors chair. Prior to Brunson’s appointment, he served in various leadership roles at AAA.

“Tommy has been an invaluable member of our association and we are excited to have him serve as our 2018 chair,” said Jim Fowler, president of AAA. “He knows our culture and I am confident he will be a wonderful steward for AAA during his tenure.”

As chair, Brunson will focus on three major AAA initiatives in 2018: the association’s long-term strategic plan, government affairs and regulatory issues, and AAA’s education foundation that works to increase interest in multifamily as a viable career path.

“AAA is important to the multifamily community on many levels, and it is an honor to assume this position,” said Brunson. “It is my goal to uphold the values of the association and make wise decisions for the long-term effectiveness of the organization.”

Brunson is responsible for all new development activities in the eastern United States for Fairfield Residential. He is involved in all aspects of development, including site selection and planning and property-specific development decisions. Brunson works in tandem with Fairfield’s capital markets group to raise debt and equity capital and participates in asset management and strategic planning for properties in the eastern region. Prior to joining Fairfield, Brunson was vice president of development and acquisitions at Lincoln Property Company in Atlanta. He received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Birmingham-Southern College and a master’s degree in real estate development and finance from Columbia University.
