Friday, September 7th, 2018

Just in time for fall home improvement projects, the 35th Annual Fall Atlanta Home Show and Outdoor Living Expo will open its doors Friday-Sunday, Sept. 7-9 at the Cobb Galleria Centre.  Hundreds of exhibitors will showcase some of the newest and most innovative interior and exterior home improvement products and services, ranging from smart home technology to outdoor living spaces, and from roof to basement and all living spaces in between.  This year, the Show will be presented by Marketplace Events, the largest producer of business-to-consumer home shows in North America.  One lucky attendee will win a new roof valued at $15,000 courtesy of Team Roofing & Construction.  FallAtlantaHomeShow.com, #AtlantaHomeShow

Brett Tutor, the new carpenter on TLC’s popular show “Trading Spaces”, will be the Show’s featured speaker.  He is the former host of the TV show, “New Home Source” and founder of the non-profit, Off the Grid International, which builds water and sanitation systems in remote areas of the world.  In addition to his TV and carpentry work, Tutor is a songwriter and guitar player who performs in an Austin, Texas-based band.  He will speak at 1 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 7, 1 and 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8 and 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 9.  Tutor will bring four of his custom-made American Flag cutting boards for attendees to bid on after each of his presentations.  He will personalize each board as requested by the winner, and the proceeds will be donated to Brookwood in Georgetown, (BIG), a Texas-based non-profit that provides meaningful work to adults with functional disabilities.

A popular gathering spot will be the Backyard Beer Garden, where a team of outdoor living experts headed by Georgia Landscape will be on hand to discuss services and products ranging from grass to fire pits, flowers to water features, patios, walkways and much more.  Red Hare Brewing Company of Marietta will offer beer tastings for attendees age 21 and older, and the $5 tasting donation will benefit HOPE Atlanta, the programs of Travelers Aid.

A roster of exciting and informative home improvement and landscape experts will appear all three Show days on the Reliable Heating & Air Home Show stage.  Walter Reeves, the Georgia Gardener, will kick-off the speakers at noon on Friday, Sept. 7, and will return Saturday morning, Sept. 8 to broadcast “The Lawn & Garden Show” live on News 95.5 FM and AM750, followed by a live broadcast of WSB’s “Home Fix-It Show” hosted by Dave Baker.  See FallAtlantaHomeShow.com for the complete speaker schedule.

“The Fall Atlanta Home Show and Outdoor Living Expo offers improvement ideas for all home types and budgets,” said Mark Levine, Show manager.  “Attendees can comparison shop for kitchens and baths, porches and decks, heating and electrical systems, doors and windows, pools and hot tubs, home décor and so much more all under one roof.  They can see products demonstrated, speak one-on-one with the experts and set up appointments.  Many exhibitors offer special discounts for Show attendees, too.”

On Sunday, Belinda Skelton host of “Atlanta Living” on News 95.5 FM and AM750, will broadcast live from 1-3 p.m. from the Tremron exhibit (booth 105), and Angie Ward, assistant program director and on-air talent – Middays—94.9 The Bull, will broadcast live from the Backyard Beer Garden from 1-3 p.m.  A favorite Home Show tradition is “Trade Day”, sponsored by PMCPros, where members of Atlanta’s housing industry (Realtors, contractors, interior designers, landscapers, etc.) can receive free admission to the Show on Friday, Sept. 7 simply by presenting their business card at the box office.  New this year is “Hero Day”, also planned for Friday, Sept. 7.  On that day only, active military personnel, veterans, police, fire and first responders are invited to attend the Fall Atlanta Home Show & Outdoor Living Expo free of charge as a thank-you for their service.  Heroes must present valid ID at the box office, and the free admission offer does not include family members.
