City of Refuge Elects Bob Patton of Ernst & Young and Teri McClure of UPS to Board of Directors

Westside Atlanta-based nonprofit City of Refuge announced the addition of two new board of director members. Bob Patton, Americas Vice Chair of Accounts at Ernst & Young LLP, and Teri McClure, Chief Human Resources Officer and Senior Vice President of Labor at UPS, were selected to join the prominent group of business leaders committed to helping transform the 30314 neighborhood. Both began serving on the board this past September.

“These two individuals have been longtime supporters of our mission here at City of Refuge and we are thrilled to have their talents on our board,” said Bruce Deel, founder and CEO of City of Refuge. “Bob and Teri both have proven track records for implementing successful strategies in their respective industries and we can’t wait to see what ideas they bring to the table. We are grateful for our continued partnerships with EY and UPS.”
 
Bob Patton is the Americas Vice Chair of Accounts at Ernst & Young LLP (EY). In this role, he leads EY’s growth strategy by engaging and motivating 71,000 people to drive top line growth and propel the EY brand in the market. He has extensive experience working with Fortune 500 companies. In 2018, Bob was recognized by Consulting Magazine with their Lifetime Achievement Award. Bob is also a LinkedIn Influencer and has written extensively on the topics of leadership, purpose and innovation.
 
Members from Bob’s team at EY also led the ideation of the 2018 The Gathering, City of Refuge’s largest annual fundraiser. This year’s event raised more than $1 million for the organization.

Teri McClure, Chief Human Resources Officer and Senior Vice President of Labor at UPS, is responsible for Human Resources, Employee Communications and Labor Relations for the company's more than 444,000 employees worldwide. Teri is also a member of the company's Management Committee, which is responsible for setting strategy, profit and operating plans for the company's worldwide operations. In addition to City of Refuge, she serves on the board of directors for Lennar Corporation, Heart for Africa, the Task Force for Global Health, and the Board of Trustees for United Way Worldwide.

City of Refuge has been transforming lives in Atlanta and beyond for the past 21 years, offering more than 20,000 individuals a second chance at life. The nonprofit is headquartered in Vine City on the Westside and has several satellite campuses in 16 cities across the country. In October 2016, City of Refuge launched a $25.6 million capital campaign and has raised nearly $25 million, contributing to components such as the newly opened Tech Academy and a new affordable apartment community called The 1300 slated for a summer 2019 open, as well as internal organizational operations.
