Wednesday, January 30th, 2019

Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms announced the appointment of Peter Kadushin as Director of Communications for the City of Atlanta.

Kadushin most recently served as Senior Communications Advisor, and previously Director of Communications, for Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan, where he managed the communications office and led social media, local and national media strategies.

Prior to his service to Detroit, Kadushin served as Deputy Director of Communications for New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, where he created and executed the communications rollout strategy for the Mayor’s Universal Pre-K program and led rapid media response. Before his work at New York's City Hall, he was Deputy Press Secretary for the United Federation of Teachers. Kadushin has also been a reporter for both the New York Daily News and New York Post.

“I am happy to welcome Peter Kadushin to the City of Atlanta,” said Mayor Bottoms. “His experience managing communications for two of the nation’s most significant cities, paired with his journalism background, make him an invaluable addition to our Administration.”

“It is an honor to be able to serve Mayor Bottoms and the people of Atlanta,” said Kadushin. “Atlanta’s future is bright, and my family and I are looking forward to becoming part of the city’s growth and transformation.”

Interim Communications Director Kelly S. Beaty will remain with the executive office, leading public engagement and special initiatives for the Administration.

Kadushin’s appointment is effective February 11th.
