Bettina Alam, the contract management director in Morris, Manning & Martin’s Corporate Technology Practice, has been elected to an international leadership post. Alam is now a member of the 2019 Global Council for The International Association for Contract & Commercial Management (IACCM.)

The Council’s 150 members represent specific countries, regions and networks. Alam is representing the association’s Legal Network. Of the four Legal Network representatives, she is the only non-attorney.
“It was an honor to be elected by my peers,” Alam said. “I look forward to engaging with the members of the legal community from around the world, as well as in our geographic area.”

IACCM’s 50,000 members work in more than 17,000 corporations in 166 countries. They include contract and commercial managers, negotiators, attorneys and supply chain professionals in a variety of industries. The organization’s goal is to help public and private sector organizations and professionals achieve world-class standards in their contracting and relationship management process and skills. The council is structured to provide greater regional, industry and subject matter representation.

"Bettina works hard to add value to our clients' businesses, so it's no surprise that she would reach out to support her colleagues as well,” said John Yates, who chairs MMM’s Technology Group. “I'm sure she will be a tremendous help in espousing new ideas, identifying trends and collaborating to resolve shared challenges."

Alam helped found MMM’s Contract Management Solutions group, which offers a comprehensive solution for the firm’s clients by utilizing best practices. The experienced team helps organizations accelerate revenue and improve bottom line savings through outsourced contract management. Her core competencies include contract preparation and negotiation, contract compliance, vendor performance and risk management, business process improvement, project management and contract/negotiations training.
