Atlanta Cancer Care recently announced the addition of Dr. S. Tariq Mahmood to its Alpharetta and Sandy Springs offices.

Dr. Mahmood is a board-certified physician in hematology, medical oncology and internal medicine.He joins Atlanta Cancer Care from Panama City, Florida, where he served as chair of the cancer committee and chief of medicine at his local hospital.

“I am excited to join the team of Atlanta Cancer Care,” said Dr. Mahmood. “I value compassionate and quality cancer care and have a passion for cutting-edge cancer treatment; I look forward to offering those services to my patients in metro Atlanta.”

Dr. Mahmood completed his training in internal medicine at the Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Medicine in Rochester, Minn. He completed his Oncology/Hematology Fellowship at the University of South Florida/Moffitt Cancer Center.

Dr. Mahmood has been published in several publications. His clinical interests include general hematology/oncology, gastrointestinal oncology, genitourinary oncology, thoracic/head and neck oncology and myeloma.
