Construction to Impact ATL North Economy Lot

Staff Report From Metro Atlanta CEO

Friday, April 26th, 2019

The next step in Hartsfield-Jackson’s ongoing construction efforts includes an expansion of the Airport’s T-North concourse. The expansion, set for completion in late 2022, will add five new gates and is expected to increase ATL’s already award-winning efficiency levels. Enabling work to begin the expansion process will impact ATL’s North Economy Parking beginning Wednesday, May 1. The construction will force the closure of nearly 700 spaces that day; over 350 additional spaces will be captured two weeks later on May 15. Guests who use the North Economy lot are urged to plan accordingly and use other parking options at ATL.  North Daily parking will remain open, as will South Daily parking, the South Economy lot, the West Economy lot, Park-Ride lots A and C, and the International Park-Ride. Maps, real-time lot status updates, and other important ATL Parking information can be found here: http://apps.atl.com/Passenger/Parking/Default.aspx.

Saturday Roadway Impacts

Construction on ATL’s West Parking Deck is ongoing, and as the new deck’s seven levels continue to rise, traffic will be impacted two times briefly Saturday morning, April 27. Two 60-ton, 145-foot-long bridge beams necessary for the completion of the deck will be unloaded between 9 a.m. and noon. To facilitate the beams’ staging, Rental Car Center Parkway will close twice for approximately two to five minutes at different periods Saturday morning. Traffic will be slightly impacted, but those impacts will last only moments.
