Casual Fridays have a different meaning at Pinnacle Bank in Covington with its Denim and Donate program. Employees who wear blue jeans on Fridays donate to the program which supports local initiatives such as Piedmont Newton Hospital’s Hope Boutique.

Recently, Wendy Hankins, RN, cancer nurse navigator at Piedmont Newton’s Women’s Diagnostic Center, was presented with a check by Darlene Godwin, assistant vice president and branch manager for Pinnacle Bank and Erika Hughes, universal banker at Pinnacle. This is the second time this year the bank has chosen the Hope Boutique as the recipient of Denim and Donate funds with donations from bank employees totaling nearly $300.

As part of the Piedmont Healthcare nonprofit health system, Piedmont Newton Hospital is community-owned and benefits from generous support through private gifts from the community and funds raised at fundraisers such as the annual golf tournament scheduled for Friday, Oct. 4 at the Oaks Golf Course. Piedmont Newton relies on the generosity of donors to make many of the hospital’s programs possible.

Every patient who visits Piedmont Newton is touched by donors whose support makes it possible to buy new equipment, improve facilities and expand education programs.
