B&D Industrial, parent company to B&D Technologies, B&D Service and Scale Systems, is pleased to announce that Robert (Robbie) Floyd, Digital Business Manager, was voted in as a new Executive Board member of the Association for High Technology Distribution (AHTD) during the Fall 2019 association meeting in Orlando, FL. Robbie has been B&D’s lead representative to the AHTD since 2012, and B&D has been a member of the organization since the early nineties. Robbie has served both on AHTD’s Membership and Promotions committees before this appointment.

AHTD, like other industry associations, serves a critical role in establishing best practices, education, industry leadership and the technical standards to which our industry adheres. AHTD comprises nearly 300 automation and manufacturing solution providers that focus on the automation space. The importance of these associations extends beyond technology and fosters a greater sense of community, as well as stewardship, at national and local levels, allowing member companies to better serve their communities.

Paul Burke, President of Steven Engineering and Vice President of the AHTD, said “AHTD’s Executive Committee is very pleased to welcome Robbie Floyd to our Board of Directors. Robbie’s outstanding reputation in our industry, along with his 30+ years of experience, will ensure that our association continues the strong momentum we have built in support of our members.”

When asked about the appointment, Robbie stated, “AHTD is an organization of the greatest minds in our industry. When I started attending AHTD meetings, I found AHTD to be a place where I was surrounded by welcoming people that loved automation and being asked to serve on the AHTD Board of Directors is an honor for me. I feel privileged to serve in a capacity where I am able to help continue the growth of an already outstanding organization built on a solid foundation created by talented leaders.”

B&D, a member of the AHTD and several other associations, feels that these associations are critical for identifying the latest technology trends, as well as industry changes. We look forward to Robbie being an executive member and helping B&D better serve our customers.
