Paint Love, Inc., an arts-based non-profit youth organization, has awarded Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and Brockett Elementary with the 2019 Impact Awards for their dedication and passion in working with metro Atlanta youth to create inspirational artwork. The Paint Love Project Impact Awards were created to highlight transformational projects that positively impact youth in extraordinary ways.

Children's Healthcare of Atlanta was the recipient of the Nonprofit Partner Award. The Children's artist-in-residence team worked together with Atlanta-based artists, Paint Love staff and volunteers to help pediatric patients bring their stunning mural designs to life. Brockett Elementary was the recipient of the School Partner Award. The administration, Paint Love staff and volunteers spent more than 100 hours with third, fourth and fifth graders to create a 2-D and 3-D space-themed mural that included projects across various disciplines and mediums.

The recipients were honored at the Fourth Annual Art Auction hosted at the Color Wheel. The auction brought together original work from June’s Artist Challenge and other beloved Atlanta artists, and raised more than $11,000. Laura Shaw, executive director of Paint Love, is extremely proud of the partnerships with Children’s Healthcare and Brockett Elementary and believes their combined efforts will continue to influence the community in a positive way.

“We loved getting to celebrate these impactful projects from this year,” said Shaw. “We can’t be happier with this year’s honorees and their tireless efforts in creating such beautiful artwork with metro Atlanta’s youth. The money we raised at the auction will go a long way in continuing our mission of bringing extraordinary arts programming to youth facing poverty and trauma.”
