Hyatt Centric Hotel Coming To Atlanta’s Buckhead Neighborhood

Staff Report From Metro Atlanta CEO

Tuesday, March 17th, 2020

Atlanta’s Buckhead neighborhood will soon welcome a newly constructed Hyatt Centric hotel, thanks to a joint venture between affiliates of Atlanta-based developer Songy Highroads, LLC (SHR), SharpVue Capital and Hyatt Hotels [NYSE: H]. The announcement follows SHR’s closing on the land acquisition on March 13.

The 16-story hotel will be located at 3301 Lenox Square Parkway, in the heart of Buckhead, adjacent to Lenox Square mall, Bloomingdale’s and the Georgia 400 highway.

The hotel will boast 218 guestrooms, 4,500 square feet of meeting space, a pool and a fitness center. It will also feature a 16th floor rooftop terrace, bar and restaurant, and a lobby bar and restaurant.

Buckhead’s trendy restaurants, shops and other amenities surround the one-acre development site. Hotel guests will have direct access to the PATH400 greenway, a paved trail connecting several sections of Buckhead, designed for pedestrians and cyclists. The Lenox Marta train station is also only a short walk away.

The SHR-led entity closed on construction financing from Citizens Bank last week. Songy’s equity partner is Raleigh-based SharpVue Capital, LLC. SHR and SharpVue are currently partners on a 201-key Hyatt House hotel in Nashville’s West End in close proximity to Vanderbilt and Music Row.

“The PATH400 is a marvel of urban design, offering a unique Atlanta experience for residents and visitors alike,” said Todd Nocerini, SHR’s chief operating officer. “It is just one of countless amenities that make us beyond excited to bring a Hyatt Centric to this bustling Atlanta neighborhood.”

Construction is scheduled to begin in April. The hotel is expected to open its doors in early 2022. The architect for the project is New York-based Cooper Carey; the hotel will be built by Georgia-based Reeves Young.

SHR has become a trusted partner of the Hyatt brand for developing upscale, urban hotels throughout the Southeast and Southwest. The Hyatt Centric in Buckhead marks SHR’s seventh Hyatt-branded development since 2013. Other recent joint ventures include the Hyatt Place Centennial Park in downtown Atlanta and the Hyatt House in Nashville’s West End.
