Tommy Nobis Center (a Marietta-based nonprofit) that helps individuals with disabilities enter or return to employment, will host its 22nd annual Galaxy of Stars Luncheon on Friday, May 1, 2020, from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Georgia Aquarium’s Oceans Ballroom.

Since 1998, corporate and community leaders have gathered at the luncheon to honor the impact of Tommy Nobis Center’s programs, celebrate its participants and raise much needed funds to support ongoing operations.

This year’s Galaxy of Stars event theme is “Stars Among Us.” Tommy Nobis Center will present awards to recognize the hard work and dedication of outstanding individuals who exemplify the type of service and impact that Tommy Nobis Center strives to have in our community. Honorees include Lifetime Achievement Award Winner, Dr. Ike Reighard, President & CEO of MUST Ministries and Senior Pastor of Piedmont Church; Family Member Advocate Award Winner, Lucy Cusick, Executive Director Emeritus of FOCUS + Fragile Kids; Community Champion Award Winner, Jay Cunningham, Owner and President of Superior Plumbing Services, Inc.; and Tommy Nobis Center Rising Star Award Winner, former program participant Destiny Adamson.

This year’s Honorary Co-Chairs are former Atlanta Falcon Greg Brezina and his wife Connie, and the Committee Chair is the daughter of Tommy Nobis, Devon Jackoniski. “It is both an honor and a privilege to serve as chair of the 2020 Galaxy of Stars,” said Devon. “My father was always so proud of Tommy Nobis Center, and I feel confident that he is still gleaming with joy.”

Funds raised through this event directly support Tommy Nobis Center’s programs and services for youth and adults with disabilities. Community members can participate by donating to the event directly online or via mail, at the luncheon, or through the online silent auction that will run from April 1st until the close of the event on May 1st.
