Jason Molfetas has been named senior vice president and chief information officer at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, President and CEO Raphael Bostic announced Monday. Molfetas, who is new to the Federal Reserve System, will lead the Atlanta Fed's information security and technology solutions services functions and will be a member of the management committee. He brings to the Atlanta Fed extensive transformational leadership experience, having led the implementation of new strategic technology initiatives at several companies.

Prior to joining the Atlanta Fed, Molfetas served as managing director of CIO Advisory for KPMG and director of IT Enablement for DXC Technology. He was Amtrak's chief information and digital officer from 2012 through 2017, where he led a transformation of the IT team, and served in CIO roles with other organizations including Brambles Industrial, Westcon, and Xerox Engineering.

Molfetas has a bachelor's degree in computer science from Pace University and a master's degree in business administration from Fordham University.

The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta serves the Sixth Federal Reserve District, which encompasses Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and sections of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee. As part of the nation's central banking system, the Atlanta Fed participates in setting national monetary policy, supervises numerous commercial banks, and provides a variety of financial services to depository institutions and the U.S. government.
