Reopening for Business: Maintaining Employee Confidence and Minimizing Privacy Risks
Friday, July 24th, 2020
The COVID-19 pandemic has presented all businesses, including life sciences companies, with unprecedented challenges as they reopen to their employees, customers, and visitors. With the continuing uptick in reported cases in many jurisdictions, businesses are struggling with how to maintain the confidence of their employees and other business partners in interacting in person, and in minimizing risk in a very uncertain legal climate. At the same time, the need to implement proactive safety measures, like COVID-19 testing, temperature checks, and contact tracing raises privacy concerns.
Moderated by Alan G. Minsk, chair of AGG’s FDA practice and co-leader of the Pharmaceuticals and Biotechnology industry team, our speakers will include Kevin Coy, partner and co-chair of our Privacy practice, and Henry M. Perlowski, partner and co-chair of our Employment practice, and they will discuss:
- The current regulatory climate of returning to in-person work;
- Best practices in addressing the risks associated with returning to in-person work during the COVID-19 pandemic;
- The privacy issues associated with COVID-19 safety measures, including medical tests and contact tracing; and
- The privacy, data security, wage and hour and performance management issues associated with continued teleworking.
There will be an opportunity for Q&A at the end of this webinar.
