The Silverton Foundation surpassed its fundraising goal while breaking an all-time record at the sixth annual Chip In For A Cause golf tournament, hosted at Hawks Ridge Golf Club in Ball Ground, Georgia. This year’s event boasted nearly 100 participants in addition to 130 sponsors and donors whose contributions totaled $100,899. The raised funds will benefit over 100 families with children battling severe health issues.

The Silverton Foundation is a non-profit organization created in 2012 by Silverton Mortgage President, Josh Moffitt. Its mission is to provide mortgage and rent assistance to families who have critically ill children to help reduce financial and emotional burdens, allowing parents to focus on their child’s health. Because of the efforts of The Silverton Foundation, when a child is finished with medical treatment, their home and loved ones will be waiting for them. The foundation connects with those in need through non-profits who focus on serving children, such as hospitals and social workers. To date, The Silverton Foundation has paid approximately 90 years of rent and mortgage payments.

The Silverton Foundation is an all-volunteer based organization. Sustainable funding for the Foundation comes from Silverton Mortgage through money it donates in honor of its new customers to make housing payments for families in need. Additional funding is provided through fundraising activities, such as the annual Chip In For A Cause golf tournament, Silverton Mortgage employee giving, personal donations, and sponsorships.
