Atlanta Real Estate Forum, Atlanta’s favorite source for new home and real estate news, is pleased to announce the 2020 top 25 Atlanta home builders. MarketNsight ranks the top companies by percentage of market share for the number of homes closed in 2020 in the metro Atlanta real estate market.

D. R. Horton Inc. tops the list with 11.7% market share and a $280,000 average closed price per home. Tied for second with 5.4% market share each are Lennar Atlanta (combined with CalAtlantic Homes Inc.) and Century Communities of Georgia (including homes closed by Century Complete). Coming in at No. 3 is Pulte Homes followed by No. 4 Ashton Woods/Starlight Homes.

With the exception of Smith Douglas Homes, large national home builders make up the top 5 home builders. Other large privately held building companies on the list are Rocklyn Homes Inc., Silverstone Residential, Liberty Communities and Trademark Quality Homes.

“Atlanta continues to be a strong new home market with both national builders and local Atlanta builders making the list of top home builders,” MarketNsight and ViaSearch President John Hunt said.

Hunt predicts new home pending sales will remain strong in 2021 and anticipates new home permits will be up 10% YOY.

“The Atlanta new home market is capped by its ability to supply, not by demand,” Hunt said.
