Georgia Furniture Mart Joins Atlanta Mission to Help End Homelessness for Women and Children

Friday, March 12th, 2021

Georgia Furniture Mart (GFM), Atlanta’s fastest-growing furniture retailer wants to make sure every woman and child throughout the city has a place to call home. Today, they announced they will be kicking off their Give Back campaign to help end homelessness throughout the area by supporting Atlanta’s new, innovative, low-barrier shelter for women and children. Atlanta Mission’s Restoration House will open this summer and fill a huge void in our community.

Restoration House is a state-of-the-art, innovative facility leveraging trauma informed design for women and children facing homelessness. The new shelter will enable us to expand our day services for women and children by 20% and create 100 new shelter beds for those in need. It will be the first low-barrier shelter of its kind.

The Georgia Furniture Mart Give Back campaign is working to build awareness and drive support for the new facility.  In store signage, social media and sales associates will give GFM shoppers the opportunity to donate in store and upon checkout.  GFM will match all donations up to $50,000.

GFM CEO Mike Hall said, “Since our start in 1987, we have had one mission to create value for our customers, partners and employees, while making a difference in the communities where we live, work and play”. GFM has been a big supporter of the Atlanta Mission and Restoration House project, and we are so happy we can do more to help support this important mission - to end homelessness in Atlanta.”

The GFM Give Back campaign will last till June 2021.
