Georgia Furniture Mart (GFM) Celebrates Earth Day with Key Environmental Commitments

Tuesday, April 20th, 2021

Mindful of Georgia Furniture Mart’s opportunity to lead the home furnishings industry in making a positive impact, GFM is committed to selling top-quality furniture, delivered to your home today. GFM works with companies who build furniture and comfortable upholstery harvested with sustainable forestry and earth-friendly methods. This means Georgia Furniture Mart customers can live beautifully today with a lower environmental impact than conventional alternatives.

On Earth Day 2021, a day to celebrate and inspire environmental consciousness and awareness, GFM is reaffirming their commitment to sell products that are developed from responsibly sourced materials.

They also have made a strong pledge to recycle materials at their new distribution center which is opened in DeKalb County.

Last May, Georgia Furniture Mart opened the new distribution center to serve next day deliveries and projected growth of the company. The family-owned furniture store also made a promise to ensure sustainability practices were followed at the new facility. For example, in just 5 months in 2020, GFM recycled more than 137 tons of cardboard from the facility. Also, the facility recycles tons of plastic each month as well.

“We have poured our hearts into bringing our customers the very best home furnishings at the best price possible from many sustainable resources,” said Mike Hall, founder and owner of Georgia Furniture Mart. “We are committed to creating products that are good for customers, as well as good for the planet.”
