Lendmark Financial Services Wins Silver Stevie Award in 2021 American Business Awards

Monday, May 10th, 2021

Lendmark Financial Services , a leading provider of household credit and consumer loan solutions, recently earned a Silver Stevie® Award in the Corporate Social Responsibility Program of the Year category.

The American Business Awards program is open to any company in the United States and is part of the Stevie Awards. Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word meaning “crowned,” the awards will be virtually presented to winners during a live event on Wednesday, June 30. Tickets for the virtual event are now on sale.

Lendmark Financial won for its 2019 and 2020 annual efforts to raise funds for nonprofit CURE Childhood Cancer, which Lendmark first partnered with in 2015. Founded in 1975, Atlanta-based CURE Childhood Cancer is dedicated to conquering childhood cancer through funding-targeted research while supporting patients and their families.

Lendmark raised $617,195 between July and September 2020, surpassing its 2020 goal by more than $200,000 and surpassing its $552,000 2019 total. To meet social distancing measures in 2020, the company adapted its annual in-person event and instead ended the campaign with a seven-day virtual step competition, in which its employees across the country laced up their tennis shoes to walk 13,186,408 steps, totaling more than 6,500 miles.

“The health crisis and economic uncertainty created a challenging fundraising environment, resulting in tremendous pressure on the nonprofit sector – including CURE,” said Kristin Connor, executive director of CURE.

“Lendmark is our largest supporter, having raised nearly $2.5 million in just five years. With Lendmark’s dedication and commitment to our cause, we have invested more than $4.3 million in pediatric cancer research each year to support families fighting the disease.”

For the last three years, Lendmark Financial raised at least one-third of CURE’s commitment to advancing precision medicine, an innovative form of treatment for children with cancer.

“Cancer doesn’t stop for a pandemic, and I’m so thankful our employees recognized that CURE needed our support and fundraising efforts more than ever,” said Bobby Aiken, CEO of Lendmark Financial Services.

More than 3,800 nominations – a record number – from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in a wide range of categories, including Startup of the Year, Executive of the Year, Best New Product or Service of the Year and Virtual Event of the Year.

More than 250 professionals worldwide participated in the judging process to select this year’s Stevie Award winners.

“The American economy continues to show its resilience, and as we’re poised on the beginning of what should be a phenomenal period of growth, we celebrate the remarkable achievements of a wide range of organizations and people over the past 18 months,” said Maggie Gallagher, president of the Stevie Awards. “This year’s Stevie-winning nominations in The American Business Awards are testament to the ingenuity, the commitment, the passion, the adaptability, and the creativity of the American people.”
