Wellspring Living Completes First Campaign Mural with Partner Delta Air Lines

Monday, May 24th, 2021

Wellspring Living is pleased to announce today the completion of their first 20th anniversary mural with the campaign partner, Delta Air Lines.

The mural was brought to life by 20 Delta volunteers from across the company including pilots, mechanics, airport customer service agents, flight attendants, and IT and marketing professionals, and is now prominently displayed at Delta’s headquarters at their In-Flight Training Center where hundreds of employees walk through daily.

“We talk about it all the time at Delta that trafficking is such a dark topic, but when I see this mural, I see hope for victims and survivors and am reminded of how important our fight is,” said Allison Ausband, E.V.P. and Chief Customer Experience Officer, and leader of Delta's Anti-Human Trafficking Executive Steering Committee.

The project was envisioned and led by local artist Ashley Bella. Bella, a social worker, has spent more than a decade dedicated to driving social change through mental health services, social work and community involvement. “As a social worker, I worked with over 400 survivors and I have heard over 400 stories. I have had the opportunity to see them go from being victims to finding freedom as survivors. I painted this in their honor,” shared Bella.

The campaign theme “Hand in Hand” represents the hundreds of people and partners, like Delta, who have come alongside Wellspring Living to support the restoration of sex trafficking survivors and those at risk. Delta has partnered with Wellspring Living since 2018 through sponsorships, hosting apprenticeships, highlighting the organization’s mission internally and externally.

“This is a living memorial to the fact that Delta believes in survivors becoming free and we are grateful to walk alongside them in this fight,” stated Wellspring Living Founder and Executive Director Mary Frances Bowley.

This initiative is a multi-site, multi-partner campaign in which unique murals will be painted around the Metro Atlanta area depicting communities coming together to see lives of sex trafficking survivors transformed. Through these partnerships, organizations will educate their community members on the reality of sex trafficking and be a part of celebrating transformation.
