The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta announces it has retained Disciplina Group as investment consultants for part of the Foundation’s $1.3 billion asset portfolio. Disciplina, a Nashville-based, African-American and women-owned firm, was chosen after a national review involving more than a dozen investment consultants. With an extensive background serving university endowments and charitable foundations, Disciplina’s specialized approach and attention to detail provided the best practices the Community Foundation’s Investment Committee sought.
“We were impressed by the level of detail Disciplina provided throughout the vetting process. They gave us a clear picture not only of their expertise, but specifically what they would recommend for our portfolio and the data behind their decisions,” said Frank Fernandez, president and CEO of the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta. “Our two organizations also have shared values around equity and social justice, and the importance of being good stewards of our assets to benefit our work in the region.”
The Community Foundation’s Investment Committee, chaired by Bryan Rand, provided oversight and counsel throughout the search and vetting.
Disciplina provides organizations with investment opportunities comparable to multi-billion-dollar entities by giving their clients access to a global network of investment managers. The firm’s principals have depth of institutional investment management experience, including managing endowments for Emory University and Vanderbilt University. The founding partners have worked together for more than 20 years and created the firm with the aim of providing investment solutions to nonprofit and institutional clients that help to improve the communities they serve.
