Vinings Jubilee Expands Culinary Offerings + Adds bartaco to Historic Center

Wednesday, July 28th, 2021

Commercial real estate developer, Paces Properties, announced today the newest tenant to join the Vinings Jubilee food and beverage roster – beloved street food restaurant, bartaco. The restaurant is set to take over the spot that housed the former Mexican eatery, Guaco Joe’s, and is anticipated to open during summer 2022.

Inspired by the beach culture of Brazil, southern California and Uruguay, bartaco provides upscale street food in a relaxed environment. Along with its tasty tacos, bartaco offers freshly squeezed juices, specialty cocktails and beer straight out of the bottle. bartaco evokes a visit to a stylish beach resort and creates an unforgettable experience for all guests.

“Scott Lawton (Co-Founder and CEO of bartaco) and I grew up together in Vinings,” said David Cochran, CEO and President of Paces Properties. “We used to walk from our neighborhood to the New York Pizza Exchange, which was across the train tracks, but to get there, you had to cut through the church parking lot. Fast forward 35 years, I had since bought the church building, turned it into retail space, and called Scott to tell him that a great space had become available and would be perfect for bartaco. Funny how things work in life. We are simply ecstatic for Scott and his bartaco team to become a part of the Vinings Jubilee family.”

The new location joins three other bartaco locations in Atlanta, including Chastain Park, Inman Park and West Midtown.

“When David called me to tell me about this special location, I knew I wanted it to be our next home for bartaco,” said Lawton. “Vinings holds many memories for both of us, and we’re looking forward to bringing a taste of the bartaco life to the neighborhood.”
