ADEVCO Corporation (ADEVCO) and Batson-Cook Development Company (BCDC) have broken ground on two Extra Space Storage facilities in the Southeastern United States, which will add 1,481 units to the joint venture’s portfolio.

The partnership commenced construction last summer and will deliver in the fall an Extra Space Storage in Jonesboro, Ga. The 729-unit project located at 8500 Tara Boulevard is 15 miles south of downtown Atlanta and on Highway 19, which connects to Interstate 75, providing easy access to metro Atlanta.

ADEVCO and BCDC broke ground on an Extra Space Storage in Mobile, Ala. Aug. 4, a 2-acre site at 3679 Airport Boulevard. With the two deals announced today, the JV has a total of 2,991 units either delivered or under construction across five facilities.

“BCDC is honored to join with ADEVCO in delivering top-of-market storage solutions to markets throughout the southeast,” said Litt Glover, President and CEO, BCDC. “Extra Space Storage is a leading operator of self-storage facilities in the United States, and we are thrilled to be affiliated with a well-known and incredibly successful company.”

Both facilities will be three-story buildings with decorative skins, loading docks, two service elevators and state-of-the-art CCTV and card access security systems. Stinard Architecture is the architect.
