Georgia Power Provides Support to Communities In Schools Atlanta’s Risky Behavior Program

With a new school year just days away, Georgia Power is providing support to local students to set them up for success. Recently, the company provided a $5,000 donation to the Community In Schools Atlanta’s “Risky Behaviors” program aimed at helping minority youth in metro Atlanta deal with real world issues including peer pressure, trauma and leadership development.

With the support of Georgia Power, the organization will be able to bring in partners from the U.S. Attorney’s office and ex-offenders to mentor students about the real-life effects of incarceration and the justice system.

Community In Schools Atlanta is an award-winning dropout prevention program founded in 1972. The organization’s mission is to surround students with a community of supporting, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. Community In Schools empowers approximately 30,000 students a year from Atlanta Public Schools, Fulton County, DeKalb County and Clayton County.
