Agnes Scott Launches New Graduate Programs, Expands Post-Bacc

Today, the Office of Graduate Studies at Agnes Scott College announced three new graduate programs and an expansion to the post-baccalaureate pre-medical program. The additions provide new educational opportunities that will strengthen the institution’s reputation of preparing students for high-demand career opportunities and professional success in today’s workforce. 

“The areas of mental health counseling, medicine, allied health and health communications are growing at a rapid pace,” said Kelly Ball, Ph.D., associate dean for graduate studies at Agnes Scott College. “Agnes Scott is preparing the next generation of health professionals to meet this growing demand. These graduate programs highlight the importance of scientific inquiry, effective communication and inclusive and intersectional leadership.”

Launching in 2022, the new programs include the following:

  • Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling*

  • Master of Science in Medical Sciences*

  • Master of Science in Health Communications

  • Expansion of the college’s  prestigious Post-Baccalaureate Pre-Medical Program to offer students options based on their academic needs and professional goals:

    • Post-Bacc Pre-Medical Certificate

    • Post-Bacc Pre-Medical Flex

    • Post-Bacc Pre-Allied Health

Each program is a timely addition to the Agnes Scott academic experience, addressing important topics from health disparities and ethics in medicine to practical clinical experience and the emerging field of health communications. These programs will also employ the latest technology to engage students. Notably, the Master of Science in Health Communications will be fully online to expand enrollment options for a diverse population of students.
