Kilpatrick Townsend’s Adria Perez Named President of Atlanta Volunteers Lawyers Foundation Board of Directors

Friday, January 21st, 2022

Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced today that firm partner Adria Perez was named President of Atlanta Volunteers Lawyers Foundation (AVLF) Board of Directors. Ms. Perez joined the Board of Directors in 2017 and previously held roles as Vice President and Secretary. The beginning of her term was effective January 1, 2022.

“I am honored to serve AVLF as President and to continue to be a part of an exceptional Board of Directors that dedicates its time and resources to help Atlanta families,” said Adria Perez. “What I truly respect and love about AVLF is that after more than 40 years, it continues to innovate but the mission has been constant: ‘To create safe and stable homes and families by inspiring the fight for equal justice.’ AVLF’s talented group of experts and volunteers truly understand this mission and do incredible work across metro Atlanta every day.”

Ms. Perez has been an active AVLF volunteer for nearly 18 years. She started as a third-year law student as part of AVLF’s 3L program while she was a summer associate at Kilpatrick Townsend. It was then that Ms. Perez argued her first intimate partner abuse matter. She continues to be an active volunteer in addition to serving on the Board. In 2021, Ms. Perez was a key member of a Kilpatrick Townsend team that helped resolve several AVLF landlord-tenant matters. AVLF honored this extraordinary team of Kilpatrick Townsend attorneys with AVLF’s first All Star Award – naming it the “Standing With Our Neighbors Law Firm of the Year” for their successful pro bono advocacy preventing the evictions of multiple families facing eviction.

“What will make Adria such an amazing Board President is the same thing that has made her one of our most dedicated volunteers for nearly two decades,” said Michael Lucas, AVLF’s Executive Director. “She cares deeply about the communities we serve and our incredible staff who serve them each day. We are lucky to have Adria as part of the family.”
