Isakson Living has named Sonya Marsh director of human resources for the developer and operator of the Southeast’s premier life plan communities. Reporting to Isakson Living founder and managing partner Andy Isakson, Marsh will be charged with attracting, retaining and developing a best-in-class team at all Isakson Living communities.
“Although we build residential communities, it is the service and care that is provided by our teams at Park Springs and Peachtree Hills Place that is our hallmark, so a strong human resources program is critical to our mission,” stated Isakson. “We have found in Sonya a leader with the experience and passion that is vital to delivering our relationship-based person-directed household model of care in our continuum of care and the highest levels of programming and personalized services throughout our communities.”
Marsh has a proven record of delivering results for over 15 years across human resources, business partnerships, performance management, training and recruitment. Specifically, Marsh has deep experience in the areas of recruitment, coaching and training, managing human resources functions and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) best practices. As a leader, Marsh is known for her strength in collaboration with the ability to build high-performing teams through leadership and staff development and engagement, in which she builds “champions” of the mission. Marsh served in the U.S. Navy for six years and brings with her lessons learned, including instilling the value that it takes everyone to make the mission happen.
“I am thrilled to be joining Isakson Living at such a pivotal time as we redefine the senior care experience through our excellent service and household model of person-centered care,” said Marsh. “As baby boomers enter retirement, there is a need for communities that are active, engaging and promote wellness while allowing access to a continuum of care when needed. The Isakson Living model is unmatched in our industry, and I am inspired by our teams and the work they do every day to deliver our mission.”
Marsh studied business with a concentration on human resources management at Western Governors University. She is an active member of Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and received Veterans at Work certification through the organization. She also is a Certified Talent Optimization Consultant through The Predictive Index and earned a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace certificate from University of South Florida Muma College of Business.
