The Atlanta Commercial Board of REALTORS (ACBR) and Atlanta REALTORS® Association have teamed up with the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) to expose our community to the variety of career options in Real Estate and connect them with mentors who can help them succeed. The NAR Spire 2022 Mentorship Program is a groundbreaking new initiative created to promote diversity in the real estate industry through mentoring and education.

The mentorship opportunity will connect experienced REALTORS with mentees from historically underrepresented communities to help them learn the fundamentals of the real estate industry, foster education, motivate serious consideration of real estate as a career, as well as encourage property ownership as a means of generating generational wealth. This innovative initiative aims to promote diversity and inclusion in the real estate industry.

Mentorships will go far beyond the traditional day-to-day business operations in real estate, covering marketing, appraisal, information technology, property management, and financing, as well as live educational events, networking, and one-on-one mentorships.

The NAR Spire program offers mentors a platform to be leaders in addressing inequity, as well as the ability to network with peers, while growing their influence and impact in the industry. NAR Spire mentors, who must also be members of the Associations in order to volunteer, contribute to shaping the success of the next generation of real estate professionals.

NAR Spire was launched in 2021 with nine pilot regions across the U.S.: Chicago; Memphis; Raleigh and Durham, N.C.; Rochester, N.Y.; Trenton, N.J.; Seattle; Washington, D.C.; and the state of Maryland. As the facilitator of the mentor program, NAR will provide resources and tools to help participants collaborate on defining expectations, setting objectives and an action plan, and completing a formal mentoring agreement.
